Ulm/Diepoldsau (Switzerland), 3 May 2021, 10:30 a.m.
- Strategic expansion of the European network
- Strengthening of customs expertise in Switzerland for import and export operations
- All employees of Logistik2000 AG will remain with the company.
The Noerpel Group has acquired Logistik2000 AG, a Swiss-based company. With the addition of the new Diepoldsau location, which is directly on the Austrian border, Noerpel gains a second site in Switzerland. This strategic location will further strengthen the company’s European network and create optimal conditions for managing customs clearance for import and export traffic between Switzerland and EU member states.
Logistik2000 AG was founded in 1999 and operates a forwarding facility spanning almost 2,000 square metres in the tri-border region of Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Thanks to its proximity to Liechtenstein, the company has long been a trusted transport partner for leading industrial customers based there. The company's services include European groupage transport, parcel services, courier solutions and hospital logistics, as well as sea and air freight operations. The company also operates two in-house customs offices. The Noerpel Group acquired Logistik2000 AG's shares with retrospective effect from 1 January 2021.
A strategic hub between Germany and Europe
'This acquisition is an ideal addition to our network of locations in southern Germany and Switzerland,' says Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, managing partner of the Noerpel Group. 'From Diepoldsau, we can reach Austria and Italy quickly and flexibly. Our major logistics terminals in Ravensburg and Kempten are less than 60 minutes away, enabling us to reduce onward transport times.” The location on the Swiss-Austrian border will also enable Noerpel to independently manage customs processes and offer EU customs clearance services for exports from Switzerland.
Lebert-Noerpel GmbH in Baienfurt, a subsidiary of the Noerpel Group, and Logistik2000 AG have enjoyed a trusted business relationship for over 20 years.
'Integrating into the Noerpel Group gives us a strong, internationally experienced partner to support the company's long-term strategic development,' says Dietmar Schwarz, Logistics2000 AG's managing director. He will continue to lead the company alongside co-founder and Co-Managing Director Mario Tiefenthaler. From May onwards, they will be joined by Peter Steidle, Managing Director of Lebert AG, who will assume the roles of Board Member and third Managing Director.
