Key Areas
Please read through the descriptions of the hiring departments and mention in your cover letter up to two areas in which you would like to specialize during your internship with us, so that we can forward your profile to the right people right away.
Here are the hiring departments for the DH program:
| Transport | The freight forwarding company is responsible for transporting general cargo, as well as partial and full truckloads, throughout Germany. For example, to get your bicycle from the dealer to you quickly, a wide variety of departments—such as the transshipment hall, consolidated cargo receiving/shipping, dispatch, and, in some cases, export/import—must work together. Efficient and fast transport solutions and the coordination between departments are part of the exciting scope of work at the freight forwarding company. |
| Contract logistics | Logistics, also known as contract logistics, relies on the seamless coordination of all logistics functions. To ensure that customers receive a customized solution for the storage of their goods, all departments—from business development and sales to operational excellence—must work hand in hand. Here, you can explore topics related to sales, project management, product management/fulfillment, logistics engineering, procurement, logistics controlling, and much more. |
| Finance (Controlling/Accounting/Bookkeeping) | This department serves as the hub for all business processes with financial implications and provides you with an overview of how well the fiscal year went at the end of the year. The accounting department acts as an interface between Operations, Sales, the International Board, partners, clients, and entrepreneurs, and also monitors compliance with upstream accounting and finance-related processes to ensure that services rendered are properly billed. Accounting ensures complete documentation of all business transactions, and Controlling plans, manages, and monitors the company’s divisions to provide the Executive Board with a basis for decision-making. |
