Noerpel is celebrating its 100th anniversary in Passau.

Noerpel is currently looking back on a proud chapter in its company history. On 16 February 2021, the Neuburg branch of the freight forwarding and logistics service provider will celebrate its 100^(th) anniversary. 'We congratulate our colleagues on this special occasion,' says Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, managing partner of the Noerpel Group. 'The Passau branch has developed extremely successfully and is an important and stable part of our corporate network.'

C.E. Noerpel GmbH is located in the far east of Bavaria and was one of the first sites of the family-run company, founded in 1881 and headquartered in Ulm. The Passau branch began operating as a freight forwarding-only site in 1921.

C.E. Noerpel GmbH moved to its current premises in the Gewerbering industrial estate in Fürstdobl, Neuburg am Inn, around ten kilometres south of Passau, in 2001. The company now has 11,500 square metres of warehouse space with around 10,000 pallet spaces. An additional 1,200 square metres of handling area ensures the efficient processing of goods. 'In addition to national and international transport services, we offer our industrial and retail customers a wide range of logistics solutions,' says Manfred Haselböck, Branch Manager at Noerpel Passau. 'We have been working with many companies for years; we are united by a partnership based on trust.' Based on this, the Noerpel branch in Passau is continually expanding existing client projects. At the same time, the company is succeeding in winning over new clients with its services, which is why Noerpel has recorded continuous growth in recent years.

Solutions for Industry and Trade

Thanks to its geographical location just five kilometres from the Austrian border and 40 kilometres from the Czech border, the Noerpel branch in Passau has become a vital transport hub between Germany and southern and eastern Europe. “We regularly supply our customers’ production sites at home and abroad with construction components and individual parts,” says Manfred Haselböck. 'The components are first inspected and temporarily stored on our premises. We then make them available on a just-in-time basis as required.” Every day, the Passau branch coordinates around 100 lorries carrying national and Europe-wide charter consignments, either as part-loads or full loads.

A strong team

Noerpel in Passau employs around 60 administrative and operational staff. Many of them have remained loyal to the company for years, even decades. 'We have an excellent working atmosphere here — all colleagues support one another,' says Manfred Haselböck. The branch manager currently has two anniversaries to celebrate: the company's 100^(th) anniversary and his own 60^(th) birthday.
He has worked at Noerpel in Passau for 44 years and has managed the branch for almost thirty of those years. By doing so, he is continuing a very special tradition within the company: over the course of its 100-year history, only three people have held the position of branch manager at C.E. Noerpel GmbH Passau. All three have led the company for several decades, thereby ensuring continuity and reliability for the benefit of staff and customers alike.
