Noerpel Group and Johann Weiss strengthen their partnership

The Noerpel Group, headquartered in Ulm, has acquired a stake in the Austrian logistics company, Johann Weiss, based in Wiener Neudorf, with effect from 1 January 2024, pending regulatory approval. This investment will strengthen Noerpel’s market position across the DACH region, while Johann Weiss will gain enhanced access to international logistics networks throughout Europe.
Founded in 1955, Johann Weiss GmbH employs around 140 people across eight locations in Austria. Over nearly seven decades, the family-owned business has grown alongside its customers, developing into a well-established transport and logistics provider. In addition to forwarding services, the company operates approximately 10,000 square metres of warehouse space in the greater Vienna area, specialising in value-added services including the installation and dismantling of specialised equipment in the consumer goods and beverage sectors.
Creating value for both partners
This transaction will position Johann Weiss for long-term growth. For the Noerpel Group, ensuring reliable distribution services to Austria is equally important. 'Our investment in Johann Weiss connects us directly to the company’s network structure and secures a high-quality logistics solution for the Austrian market,' said Lucas Noerpel-Schneider, Member of the Management Board of the Noerpel Group.
Michael Weiss and his son Lucas Weiss will remain the sole managing directors of the company, which will continue to operate under the established name of Johann Weiss GmbH.
