  • New 13,500 sqm logistics terminal in Singen
  • Sustainable features, including solar-ready roofing and green roof systems
  • Completion is scheduled for summer 2022

The Noerpel Group is continuing to expand its logistics operations in southern Germany. A modern logistics terminal with approximately 13,500 square metres of usable space is currently being built in Singen, Baden-Württemberg. From summer 2022, this sustainably designed facility will offer a range of logistics and value-added services, creating around 30 new jobs in the region.

The new facility is being developed on a 30,000-square-metre site on the outskirts of Singen, just a few kilometres west of Lake Constance, which was previously unused. It will comprise around 12,000 square metres of warehouse space, 500 square metres of office and social areas, and approximately 2,300 square metres of mezzanine space. With an internal height of 12.2 metres and 17 loading bays, the facility will offer ideal conditions for the wide range of logistics and value-added services that Noerpel will provide on site.

'With this new facility in Singen, we are further strengthening our presence in southern Germany,' says Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, Managing Partner of the Noerpel Group. 'At the same time, we are responding to the continuously growing demand for our logistics services and creating around 30 new jobs in the region.' Once construction is complete, the Noerpel Group will operate 18 forwarding and logistics locations across Germany and Switzerland, including 11 sites in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.

Sustainable building concept

Sustainability is a key focus of the new development. The building is being designed in accordance with the Gold Standard criteria of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). Environmental features include preparatory infrastructure for photovoltaic systems on 75 per cent of the roof area, with green roofing covering the remaining 25 per cent. The green roof will make a valuable contribution to environmental protection by absorbing CO₂ and acting as a natural climate regulator. Additionally, a 4,500-square-metre high-quality ecological compensation area will be created as part of biodiversity conservation measures. As with its logistics developments in Elsdorf, Odelzhausen and Heidenheim, Noerpel is partnering with property developer Panattoni on this project.

Logistics services for existing and new customers

Much of the new logistics space has already been allocated to a long-standing Noerpel customer. Noerpel will provide this company, which manufactures packaging materials for the food, healthcare and personal care sectors, with a broad range of logistics and value-added services.

'We will begin operations with a new local team in summer 2022,' says Stefan Noerpel-Schneider. “We are currently looking for committed and motivated employees to join us on site.” Interested candidates can view current vacancies online at http://www.noerpel.de/karriere/stellenangebote/.
