The company has been honoured with the ESG Transparency Award 2024. This award recognises forward-thinking sustainability strategies and transparent reporting by companies and organisations. With its sustainability report, Noerpel achieved the highest possible rating in the ESG Transparency Award assessment.
The award is presented annually by EUPD Research, a market research, analysis and certification institute specialising in sustainability and corporate health. It evaluates organisations' commitment and reporting performance in the areas of environment, social issues and governance (ESG). Participants are assessed within development, recognition and excellence categories.
Based on its 2022/23 Sustainability Report, the Noerpel Group was classified at the Excellence Level. 'We are delighted to receive this award,' says Judith Noerpel-Schneider, Member of the Executive Board of the Noerpel Group. 'The ESG Transparency Award is valuable recognition of our commitment and achievements. It also confirms that our sustainability strategy is taking us in exactly the right direction.”
Taking action ahead of regulatory requirements
Under current EU regulations, the Noerpel Group will only be required to publish a sustainability report for the previous financial year from 2026 onwards. However, the logistics service provider has voluntarily published its first sustainability report, reviewing and analysing data from 2022 and 2023, at the end of 2023.
In the ESG Transparency Award assessment, Noerpel particularly impressed in the areas of transparency, corporate governance, and compliance.
The Noerpel Group’s Sustainability Report 2022/2023 was prepared in accordance with applicable Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards in 2023, and can be found on the company’s website.
'With our first report, we established a solid foundation at an early stage,' explains Viktoria Wessel, Head of Sustainability at the Noerpel Group. 'We can now build on this reporting.'
“The framework will align future reports with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).” The Noerpel Group aims to become climate-neutral by 2050 at the latest.
