Help that makes a difference: The Noerpel Group is supporting 16 organisations with a total donation of €100,000. As in previous years, the focus of the Noerpel Group’s 2020 Christmas donation campaign is on supporting charitable organisations in the areas surrounding its sites. The management board and branch managers agree: 'As a company, we feel a close connection to the local communities surrounding our sites. That is why providing practical help on the ground is a matter close to our hearts.”
The following charitable organisations were supported by this year's group-wide Christmas fundraising campaign:
- The St Nikolaus Children’s Hospice in Bad Grönenbach
Lebert-Noerpel, based on Dieselstraße in Kempten, supports the St Nikolaus Children’s Hospice. The hospice supports families with children suffering from terminal or life-shortening illnesses throughout periods of illness, dying and bereavement. - The AMALIE Outpatient Children’s Hospice Service
- Ravensburg Children’s Charity
Lebert-Noerpel, which is based on Eisenbahnstraße in Baienfurt, supports the AMALIE Outpatient Children’s Hospice Service (run by the Malteser and the Liebenau Foundation) and the Ravensburg Children’s Foundation. The AMALIE Outpatient Children’s Hospice Service supports families for whom illness, dying, death and bereavement have become part of everyday life. The Ravensburg Children’s Foundation looks after disadvantaged children in the region. - Klabautermann Akademia Hamburg
- Dunkelziffer Hamburg Association
The Noerpel Haulage Company supports the ‘Familienhafen’ outpatient children’s hospice service and the Dunkelziffer Association. ‘Familienhafen’ trains volunteer mentors to support children, teenagers, young adults and their families in their day-to-day lives following a terminal illness diagnosis. Dunkelziffer e.V. helps girls and boys who have experienced sexual violence, as well as their support persons. - Friends of the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Heidenheim Hospital e.V.
Noerpel, a company based on Wilhelm-Kentner-Straße in Heidenheim, supports the Friends' Association of the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Heidenheim Hospital. The association aims to make the hospital stay more pleasant for children and young people, for example by enabling parents to stay with them. - Hilden Food Bank
- Hospice Movement Hilden e.V.
Based in Hilden, Noerpel supports the Hildener Tafel and the Hospice Movement Hilden e.V. The Hildener Tafel collects donated food and distributes it to people on low incomes, such as the unemployed, single parents and pensioners. The Hospice Movement Hilden e.V. supports seriously ill and dying people and their relatives during this difficult phase of life. - The Sozialverband Deutschland, Rotenburg District Association is supported by Noerpel, which is based at Auf der Brooke in Elsdorf. The association assists those seeking advice on matters relating to pensions, care, disability, health and Hartz IV benefits. It also organises talks and events and campaigns for social justice.
- Passau Food Bank
- Hauzenberg Food Bank
Noerpel, based at Gewerbering Fürstdobl in Neuburg, supports the Passau and Hauzenberg Food Banks. The food banks collect donated food and distribute it to people on low incomes, such as the unemployed, single parents and pensioners. - Ulm Hospice
- Vesperkirche Ulm
- Lebenshilfe Donau-Iller
- Aufschnaufhaus Ulm
Noerpel, a company based on Ernst-Abbe-Straße in Ulm, supports four charitable organisations. These include the Ulm Hospice, the Vesperkirche, Lebenshilfe Donau-Iller, and the Aufschnaufhaus.
The Ulm Hospice supports terminally ill patients and their families by providing holistic care and bereavement support.
The Vesperkirche is a project run by Ulm's Pauluskirche, which provides meals for poor and disadvantaged people during the winter. In 2019, 13,261 lunches and 8,083 evening meal parcels were distributed. Due to the situation with the Coronavirus, only evening meal parcels will be distributed from early 2021 onwards.
Lebenshilfe Donau-Iller supports people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities or mental health conditions by providing services in areas such as learning, training, employment and housing.
The Aufschnaufhaus Ulm offers short-term care for children and young people with disabilities. The aim is to relieve the burden on relatives and thereby support families. - The Freiburg Street School is supported by the company Noerpel, which is based on Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße in Teningen. This is a facility run by SOS Children’s Villages Black Forest in cooperation with the Freiburg Street School Association. The organisation provides support and encouragement to young people who are homeless and facing an acute housing crisis.
These organisations also rely on donations from businesses and private individuals in their day-to-day work. The situation has become even more challenging due to the current global health crisis, leaving the coffers of most charities empty.
'With our Christmas donation, we want to provide targeted help to those in greatest need,' says Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, managing partner of the Noerpel Group. 'As a family business, it is important to us to support the local community.'
