The Noerpel Group, which is headquartered in Ulm, is strengthening its presence in Austria by operating under a unified brand. With effect from 1 October 2026, Johann Weiss GmbH, a wholly owned Noerpel subsidiary, will trade as Noerpel Austria GmbH. This rebranding signifies the final stage in the integration of the Austrian transport and logistics provider into the Noerpel Group.
Johann Weiss and the Noerpel Group have been part of the same corporate family since 2024. Noerpel first acquired a 70 per cent stake in the Austrian family-owned company in January 2024, followed by the remaining 30 per cent in January 2026. The rebranding to Noerpel Austria GmbH marks the next milestone in this integration process. 'The new company name clearly reflects our affiliation with the Noerpel Group,' says Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, CEO of the Noerpel Group. 'It sends an important signal, as the strength and stability of our group benefits not only our customers, but above all our employees.'

The Noerpel Group operates 30 company-owned locations across the D-A-CH region, supported by extensive national and international partner networks and a comprehensive service portfolio. Its transport services range from general cargo, part and full loads, air and sea freight, and parcel services to tailored logistics solutions, e-fulfilment services and dedicated personnel services. Resources available across the Group, including transport capacity, warehouse space and specialist expertise, are shared across all national subsidiaries, enabling customers to benefit from the strength of the entire network.
Operating under a new brand in Austria
Founded in 1955, Johann Weiss GmbH is now continuing its journey as Noerpel Austria GmbH. The existing teams will remain in place and operational processes will continue unchanged. Customers and business partners will continue to work with their established contacts.
Noerpel Austria GmbH employs around 110 people. In addition to its freight forwarding terminals in Wiener Neudorf and Sattledt, the company has several other locations across Austria. Warehouse facilities in the greater Vienna and Graz regions provide capacity for approximately 15,000 pallets.
As part of the Noerpel Group, Noerpel Austria gains access to the group's European partner network and extensive resources. 'This opens up new opportunities for us to expand our European transport network, develop our export business further, and offer our customers an even broader range of services,' says Andreas Kerschner, Managing Director of Noerpel Austria GmbH. 'We intend to use this momentum to drive the targeted growth of our business in Austria.'
Noerpel Austria will also continue to provide specialised transport services under the Transportmeister brand. These specialised solutions for the distribution, delivery and installation of challenging goods will be incorporated into the Group’s Value Added Transport Services portfolio.
Growth in the D-A-CH core market
Integrating the Austrian operations into Noerpel’s own network will further strengthen the group’s position across the German-speaking market. ‘The D-A-CH region is of great importance to our customers,’ says Stefan Noerpel-Schneider. ‘It is our most important core market, and we intend to continue growing there. By repositioning our business in Austria, we have created the foundations for that growth.”
