The right packaging provides proper protection.

Packaging must be a perfect fit for the product itself and the market it serves. At the same time, it must be produced efficiently, be compatible with automated processes, and be designed for recycling wherever possible.

"Our products demand exceptionally high logistics quality. We know our packaging is in the best hands with Noerpel because the team places great emphasis on care and has a thorough understanding of our processes.”

Rafal Kowalski, Head of Purchasing and Procurement

The adapa Group is committed to meeting all these requirements. As a leading European provider of flexible packaging solutions, the company serves customers in the food, tobacco, home and personal care, and healthcare sectors. Its extensive range of products is designed to deliver high performance while supporting the principles of a circular economy.

Founded in 2012 from a group of family-owned businesses, Adapa combines decades of experience with in-depth knowledge of the entire flexible packaging value chain. With production and service locations throughout Europe, the company develops, manufactures and supplies innovative packaging concepts tailored to individual customer requirements. Sustainability lies at the core of its approach: products are developed with recycling in mind, taking into account the entire value chain — from material selection and production to end-of-life treatment. "We create packaging solutions that fit, adapt, and are designed for recycling, combining performance, quality, and sustainability," says Michelle Marrone, Head of Sustainability.

A sustainable partnership

Noerpel and Adapa have enjoyed a trusted partnership for almost 30 years. We support the company with logistics services, as well as road and sea freight solutions. Our Kempten site serves as the central hub for these activities, storing raw materials and finished products while coordinating transport operations both domestically and internationally.

At its Kempten facility, Adapa specialises in producing recyclable food packaging for meat, cheese, fish, and ready meals. Consequently, we primarily handle ultra-thin, high-performance films, including shrink, skin, and high-barrier packaging materials. “Our products demand exceptionally high logistics quality. We know our packaging is in the best hands with Noerpel because the team places great emphasis on care and has a thorough understanding of our processes,” says Rafal Kowalski, Head of Purchasing and Procurement at adapa DACH GmbH.

Handling these products requires specialist expertise. Some materials are highly sensitive, while others require temperature-controlled transportation. Accordingly, temperature-managed transport solutions form part of our service portfolio. Each year, Noerpel delivers around 2,000 shipments for adapa across Germany. In addition, our Hamburg branch ships between 30 and 40 sea freight containers to the United States annually. In our IFS-certified warehouse, we handle approximately 22,000 pallets for Adapa each year, maintaining an average stock level of 1,500–2,000 pallets.

“Like adapa, we are committed to reducing emissions throughout the supply chain. From CO₂ reporting and lower-emission transport solutions using HVO100 or alternative drive systems to combined transport concepts and bespoke carbon-reduction initiatives, we are continuously working to make logistics more sustainable. It is a long-standing, trusted and sustainable partnership that connects us with adapa.”
