For over 160 years, EDELRID has been synonymous with innovation, quality, and the courage to forge new paths. Originally founded in 1863 as a manufacturer of braids and cords, the company quickly became a pioneer in rope production. Following its acquisition by Julius Edelmann and Carl Ridder, the EDELRID brand was born – a name now recognised worldwide for safety and technical excellence in vertical environments. As part of the VAUDE Group, EDELRID combines a strong heritage with a forward-looking mindset. Around 220 employees drive the development of new products every day. A defining element of the company's DNA is its in-house manufacturing at its headquarters in Isny, in the Allgäu region. A large proportion of the product portfolio is produced here, including mountain sports ropes, static ropes and paraglider lines. All products are manufactured to the highest quality standards with a strong sense of responsibility. EDELRID also actively shares its expertise through training courses, practical workshops and digital learning formats focused on safety, product use and responsible conduct in the vertical world.
Responsibility across the entire supply chain
Our commitment extends beyond the product itself. Since 2011, we have supported EDELRID as its logistics partner, helping to extend the company's high standards of quality and reliability throughout the supply chain. From our Kempten branch, we oversee all national and international transport operations as EDELRID's central logistics partner, supplying customers and business partners across Europe. In addition to road freight services, we handle global inbound logistics for goods sourced from Asia, including sea freight and customs clearance. Our objective is clear: to combine maximum efficiency with complete transparency and reliable processes.
Integrated Thinking for Global Logistics
Every month, we take charge of several containers at the Port of Hai Phong in Vietnam. We organise ocean freight, including full customs clearance, and transport the goods to our warehouse in Betzigau, near Kempten. There, shipments are carefully processed, consolidated onto product-specific pallets, and distributed flexibly according to demand.
