„We have created the ideal conditions to ensure that we remain a reliable and high-performing partner.“
Armin Jung, Branch Manager
Spacious and modern, our new freight forwarding terminal in Hilden has been built to DGNB Gold standards and is now complete.
The opening of the new terminal marks a new chapter for Noerpel and our customers. With almost twice the handling space, the site now offers 6,400 square metres of terminal capacity in total. Generous traffic routes throughout the facility enable our employees to work smoothly and efficiently. The number of loading gates has increased by 21 to a total of 59, and office space has expanded by 380 square metres to reach 1,340 square metres in total. These offices are located in the first section of the new building, into which employees moved in October 2025. The terminal occupies a 24,400-square-metre site.
Modern facilities for efficient operations
“I am delighted that the final phase of construction has been completed and that we can now operate the new facility at full capacity,” said Armin Jung, branch manager in Hilden. “This investment is a clear commitment to the region. I am proud that we have created the best possible conditions to continue providing our customers and the IDS network with the reliability and performance they expect from us.” Mr Jung has been responsible for the Hilden branch since March this year.
State-of-the-art equipment throughout the offices and handling terminal creates a modern working environment and supports efficient processes. New hardware and software solutions, together with advanced camera technology, help ensure reliable transport services and smooth operational workflows.
The new terminal was completed in just two years on the site of the former freight forwarding facility, with operations continuing without interruption throughout the construction period. The building was constructed in accordance with the DGNB Gold standard of the German Sustainable Building Council. The project was implemented in two phases. First, part of the existing buildings was demolished to make way for the initial section of the new terminal, which was connected directly to the existing facility. In the second phase, the remaining forwarding terminal was dismantled and rebuilt.
“The construction period presented several challenges for our team, customers, and partners. We would therefore like to express our sincere thanks to everyone involved,” says Armin Jung. "Without this tremendous support, completing such a transformation during ongoing operations would not have been possible. Now we are ready to move up another gear and head into the next chapter at full speed.”
