Noerpel and Lebert join forces

On 1 January 2019, Lebert & Co. and C.E. Noerpel GmbH combined their business activities. All shares were transferred to Noerpel. At the locations in Baienfurt/Bad Waldsee, Kempten and Kreuzlingen (Switzerland), the partnership created significant efficiency gains for both companies.

1954

Franz Lebert and Johann Birkart from Aschaffenburg founded Lebert KG in Kempten.

Just one year after its foundation, the company launched national scheduled transport services and took over warehousing activities for the dairy industry in the Allgaeu region.

1961

Lebert & Co. was founded in Baienfurt near Ravensburg.

1962

The company established its first European scheduled services to Austria, Italy and France.

1977

Lebert AG CH was founded in Wil, St. Gallen, Switzerland.

1982

A new freight forwarding facility was built in Ursulasried, a district of Kempten.

1991

Lebert & Co. Kempten opened its Erbach branch.

1994

The Swiss holding company LeAG was established.

1999

Lebert & Co. became a shareholder of CargoLine.

2002

Company founder Franz Lebert passed away. A new succession structure was subsequently put in place.

2003

Lebert & Co. Kempten was named CargoLine “Partner of the Year”.

2006

ABX Bad Waldsee was integrated into Lebert & Co. Baienfurt.

2007

As part of a management buy-out (MBO), the management team acquired a 36% stake in the Lebert Group.

Lebert / NAVIS Uebersee Spedition GmbH was founded in Hamburg.

2010

In October, Lebert & Co. Kempten received IFS certification for the storage of food products, packaging materials and related goods in its logistics facilities.

The company also successfully renewed its IFS Logistics Standard certification at Higher Level as part of the recertification process.

2012

K+L Transporte GmbH was founded in Kempten.

2014

Lebert & Co. was once again recognised as CargoLine “Partner of the Year”.

2017

By this time, the Lebert & Co. Group employed around 500 people and generated annual revenue of EUR 127 million.

The company offered national and international distribution and procurement logistics, warehousing logistics, outsourcing solutions, as well as sea freight and air freight services including customs clearance.
